  • Taught as a participant of the Shugyo Project, a program funded through a grant from the Department of Education with the goal of introducing Japanese to K-12 students in the Raleigh-Durham area.
  • Introduced Japanese to 6th grade students through the Shugyo Project.

  • Taught Elementary Japanese and Introduction to Japanese Culture.
  • Developed curriculum for the new Japanese program.

Assistant English Teacher, Kuki City Schools, Japan, August 2006-July 2007

  • Team taught English with Japanese teachers of English to junior high school students grades 1-3 at two junior high schools.
  • Introduced English to Japanese elementary school students grades 1-6 at seven elementary schools.
